Australia leads the way with nine. Followed by Serbia with nine, all of which have come from Djokovic who’s owned this competition over the past decade-plus.

- [Jan 25] It’s a close battle atop the oddsboard between Sabalenka and Rybakina at +100 and +160 in the Australian Open odds. Further down the semifinalists are Azarenka at +450 and Linette at +1300
- [Jan 23] With Swiatek knocked out of the Aussie Open, Sabalenka is now the top favorite heading into the quarterfinals at +210 odds

Unlike on the men’s side, it’s often a new face winning each year in Australia. There have been six different winners the past seven years. Only Osaka has won twice in that span.
AO Women’s Champions by Country
Barty became the first Australian to win the Aussie Open since Chris O’Neil, who won it all in 1978. This, despite Australia owning the most overall titles with 44. Naomi Osaka is the only Japanese player on either the men’s or women’s tours to win the Aussie Open.
